In line with the cooperative's commitment of providing high-quality services to its member-consumer-owners and as part of the NUVELCO's ISO certification requirements, 7S of Good Housekeeping Training and Design Thinking was conducted in two separate batched on March 7 and 8, 2023 at the MCO Hall, NUVELCO Headquarters, Gabut, Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya.
The said training was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment under its umbrella organization Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB). Atty. Lovely Mei Dela Cruz and Mr. Francis Reyes of Region II RTWPB served as resource speakers.
The program covered the seven key areas of 7S namely - Sort, Systemize, Sweep, Standardize, Self-discipline, Sustain, and Safety; and the purpose, phase, and processes of design thinking.
The training program was well-received by the employees who appreciated the opportunity to improve their housekeeping skills. The management also recognized the benefits of the training, including improved efficiency, increased safety, and enhanced employee morale.#
In celebration of Women's Month, Nuvelco recognized the achievements and emerging empowerment of its lady warriors of light. Seven (7) amazing women of the cooperative were recognized for being an example of resiliency and courage.
GM Fredel Salvador led the simple celebration. In his message, he addressed the importance of women not only in the cooperative but in the society. Human Resources Division Head, Raymond Navarette discussed the legal mandates of the Women's Month Celebration and the significant of this year's theme, "WE are all for Gender Equality, WE are all for an inclusive society."#
Rev. Fr. Resty Valdez of Saint Joseph Husband of Mary Parish officiated the NUVELCO March Thanksgiving Mass on March 6, 2023 at the Nuvelco MCO Hall.
The blessing of the March birthday celebrants and the two newly acquired manlift was also conducted after the thanksgiving mass.
The said event was attended by the Nuvelco Board of Directors headed by the Board President Dominador Lapada and the Nuvelco employees and management led GM Fredel L. Salvador.
NUVELCO hosts the three days Seminar-Workshop on Computer Assisted Auditing and Accounting Tools (CAATs) and Data Analytics on February 28 to March 3, 2023. The said activity was organized by the National Electrification Administration in partnership with North East Luzon Electric Cooperatives Association. The participants are EC employees from CAR, Region 1, Region 2, and Region 3.
General Manager Fredel L. Salvador in his welcome address thanked the NEA-EC Training Institute (NETI) for choosing NUVELCO as the venue for the said seminar. He then advised the participants to focus on the activity and take advantage of the opportunity given by their respective cooperatives.
Center for Internal Advisory Services Philippines Vice President Alejandro Palacio, Jr. serves as the resource speaker.
The seminar aims to introduce new auditing techniques for the improvement of the cooperative's operation.#
To strengthen employee's work ethics and align it in the cooperative vision, mission, and values, a two-day seminar workshop was conducted in two batches on February 22-23 and 24-25, 2023 at the NUVELCO MCO Hall.
On the said seminar, topics on communication ethics, employee and organizational commitment, and the workplace ethics were emphasized which promote personality development through positive attitude and good behavior.

NUVELCO Board and management attended the Power Supply Agreement Caravan for Distribution Utilities sponsored by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on February 16, 2023 in Cauayan City, Isabela.
The caravan is part of the drive of ERC to discuss issues appertaining to rate increase and clarify matters that affect contract as regards power supply.
The PSA Caravan is the ERC's grassroots-based efforts to evaluate primarily the generation component of consumers' electricity bills. Generation charge constitutes almost sixty percent (60%) of the power bill and accounts for the cost of power generated and sold to distribution utilities (DUs) by generation companies under PSAs or through the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) which the utilities then supply to their customers.
As part of the continuing drive of NUVELCO to bring its doorstep closer to the Local Government Units of Nueva Vizcaya, the management team led by General Manager Fredel L. Salvador and Board Chairman Dominador B. Lapada attended the Sangguniang Bayan of Kasibu regular session on February 13, 2023.
Core of the discussions are the power rate, system reliability, electrification projects, and renewable energy projects.
Vice Mayor Alberto Bumolo, Jr. expressed his appreciation to NUVELCO for attending their session and commitment to support the cooperative.
The Board of Directors and management of NUVELCO, in full force, meet with San Miguel Energy Corporation (SMEC) to discuss possibilities to reduce generation rate passed-on to the cooperative.
In almost three (3) hours of full discussion and airing of sentiments particularly on the plights of the member-consumer-owners (MCOs) of NUVELCO, SMEC assured that they will continue their effort to reduce the generation rate.
It can be recalled that last December 2022, a meeting was conducted between NUVELCO and SMEC which resulted in a reduction of power rate passed-on to NUVELCO.
