In a show of commitment to excellence and social responsibility, the Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (Nuvelco) conducted an orientation and blood donation program of the Batch 5 of Basic Lineworkers Training Course on April 19, 2023.
The orientation, held at NUVELCO MCO Hall, was attended by the 45 participants of the training course who will undergo a rigorous training to prepare them to become linemen. The program covers a wide range of topics, including safety and technical skills on line construction and maintenance.
During the orientation, General Manager Fredel Salvador personally provided the participants of the things they will expect during the training and the rules and policies they have to adhere while undergoing the said training. GM Salvador along with the Board of Directors headed by Chairman Dominador Lapada advised the participants to do their best and have discipline during the training for a successful completion.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the trainees participated in a blood donation program and basic first aid training conducted by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Nueva Vizcaya Chapter. Nuvelco invites PRC during orientation of BLTC to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and to contribute to the availability of blood supply. #
Forty-seven brave and able young warriors of light were confirmed graduates of the Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative 4th Basic Lineman Training Course (BLTC) on April 18, 2023 at the Nuvelco MCO Hall, Gabut, Dupax del Sur.
The graduates have successfully completed 144 hours of training course and 480 hours of on-the-job training. The training course includes discussion, actual preparation, and exercises online construction and maintenance. This is the first batch who had undergone fiber optic installation as additional curriculum.
The highlight of the program was the awarding of the certificate of completion and special awards to dedicated warriors of light who exemplary completed the course. Christian C. Elarde was recognized as the Best Top Performing Trainee of the batch who then received a Pedro Dumol medallion.
General Manager Fredel Salvador in his message emphasized the importance of the role played by linemen in the electric cooperatives and how the skills they have acquired would help them to provide a critical service to the community. He congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their future careers.
As the ceremony concluded, the graduates proudly threw their caps in the air, signaling the end of one chapter of their lives and the beginning of a new one. The BLTC Batch 4 has produced a group of talented and motivated individuals from different provinces and cooperatives in Region 2 who are now ready to take the challenges of the electric cooperatives and make a positive difference in their communities. #
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHILHEALTH) conferred the Highest Compliance Award for Premium Remittance and Reporting to the Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (NUVELCO) on April 13, 2023 at Villa Diana in Cordon, Isabela.
NUVELCO was recognized for its exemplary compliance with PHILHEALTH's regulatory standards, particularly in the areas of premium remittance and reporting. The award is a testament to NUVELCO's commitment to promoting good governance and transparency in its operations.
The co-op Cashier Amy Laccay and Payroll Officer Judith Tiglao accepted the award in behalf of NUVELCO General Manager Fredel L. Salvador. #
The Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative held its 42nd Annual General Membership Assembly on March 25, 2023 at the Nuvelco Gymnasium. Gabut, Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya, and it was a resounding success.
The National Electrification Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda served as the Guest Speaker during the said significant activity. Almeda expressed his utmost support to the cooperative's projects especially on achieving hundred percent electrification within its franchise area. The administrator administered the oath of the newly elected Board of Directors of NUVELCO.
Present also during the assembly who extended their support to the cooperative were PHILRECA Party List Representative Presley C. De Jesus and Nueva Vizcaya Congresswoman Luisa Lloren Cuaresman represented by Lopito Lloyd Valdez.
During the business proper, which was presided by BOD Chairman Dominador Lapada, General Manager Fredel L. Salvador presented to the member-consumer-owners (MCOs) the 2022 Annual Report and the future projects of the cooperative. Likewise, the MCOs were given the opportunity to ask questions during the open forum which was then addressed by no other than GM Salvador.
The assembly concluded as the cooperative give away raffle prizes to the attending MCOs where a lucky consumer from Bambang took home the grand prize. Overall, the assembly was a success, and the MCOs left with a better understanding of the cooperative performance and plans for the future. BOD Chairman Lapada and GM Salvador expressed their gratitude to the MCOs for their participation and engagement. #
"There should be no EC left behind." These are the words of Nuvelco Board and management as they personally handed hundreds of units of brand-new kwh meters.
The Nuvelco Board and management led by GM Fredel Salvador and Board Chair Dominador Lapada felt the need to extend support and genuine love to Abreco because of its ailing condition.
NEA personnel led by PS Nida Tongol, Institutional Assist Marivic Aguilar and Technical Assist Engr. Edward Domingo expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the blessing received.
The Nuvelco Team travelled for almost 9 hours to meet and greet Abreco personnel and NEA team. #
In line with the cooperative's commitment of providing high-quality services to its member-consumer-owners and as part of the NUVELCO's ISO certification requirements, 7S of Good Housekeeping Training and Design Thinking was conducted in two separate batched on March 7 and 8, 2023 at the MCO Hall, NUVELCO Headquarters, Gabut, Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya.
The said training was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment under its umbrella organization Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB). Atty. Lovely Mei Dela Cruz and Mr. Francis Reyes of Region II RTWPB served as resource speakers.
The program covered the seven key areas of 7S namely - Sort, Systemize, Sweep, Standardize, Self-discipline, Sustain, and Safety; and the purpose, phase, and processes of design thinking.
The training program was well-received by the employees who appreciated the opportunity to improve their housekeeping skills. The management also recognized the benefits of the training, including improved efficiency, increased safety, and enhanced employee morale.#
