Consistent with the mandate of the Election Code of Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (Nuvelco), a district election will be held on February 25 and 26, 2017.

The election is pursuant with Board Resolution No. 50, Series of 2016 adopting the calendar of activities for 2017 district election.  The districts subject of election are District IV (Quezon/Kasibu) and District VII (Bagabag/Diadi) on February 25 and 26, respectively.

Section 7, Articles II of the Nuvelco Election Code provides the qualifications of a director and officer as follows: Filipino citizen; graduate of any four (4) year course; of legal age; of good moral character; a member of the cooperative in good standing for the last three (3) years; actual resident and consumer in the district that he or she seeks to represent for at least two (2) years immediately preceding the election, and attended at least two (2) Annual General Membership Assemblies (AGMA) for the last three (3) years immediately preceding the election or appointment.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the Nuvelco Main Office to secure the necessary requirements and clearances.

Deadline for the filing of certificate of candidacy for District IV and VII is on February 15 and 16, 2017, respectively.

1. He or she is a Filipino citizen;
2. He or she is a graduate of any four (4) year course;
3. He or she is at least of legal age and above. Provided that those who are 65 years old and above shall be required to submit a medical certificate fit to work;
4. He or she is of good moral character;
5. He or she is a member of NUVELCO in good standing for the last three years immediately preceding the election or appointment and shall continue to be a member in good standing during his or her incumbency;
6. He or she is an actual resident and consumer in the district that he or she seeks to represent for at least two (2) years immediately preceding the election; and
7. He or she has attended at least two (2) Annual General Membership Meeting for the last three (3) years immediately preceding the election or appointment.
8. Has not been apprehended for electric pilferage.
9. Has not been removed for cause as director or an employee from the cooperative.

1. Such person or his or her spouse is holding an elective position.
2. Such person or his or her spouse has been a candidate in the last preceding local or national election;
3. Such person has been convicted by final judgment of a crime involving moral turpitude;
4. Such person has been terminated from public office shall mean removal;
5. Such person is not related to an incumbent board member of the cooperative or the General Manager up to the third civil degree of relationship by consanguinity or affinity.
6. Such person is employed by or has financial interest in a competing enterprise or business selling electric energy or electric hardware to the cooperative or doing business with the EC including, but not limited to the use or rental of poles.
