Gabut, Dupax del Sur - Some 26,955 household-consumers in the province benefited from a "lowered electric rate" for the year 2018 falling as life-line users and those availing the senior citizen discounts.
The program was implemented in the province by the Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (Nuvelco) after the national government thru the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Electrification Administration National Electrification Administration (NEA).
“It is also the co-op’s social responsibility to alleviate the financial condition of our less fortunate consumers to avail the benefits a life-line rate and those senior citizens who has no source of livelihood to support their living,” Board chairman Manolito Lumidao said.
The granting of life-line rate and availment of senior citizen discount are subject to some requirements and conditions that must be complied
Nuvelco general manager Lloyd Valdez said the financial assistance is in the form subsidy given to consumers who are registered as senior citizens and residential consumers who consumed 100 kilowatt hours and below.
Meanwhile, Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative is now a real cooperative registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and is now accepting capital share in the minimum amount of P1,200.00.
